July 2014

4th of July was a nice night at Millie and Charlie's. However, Wendy didn't care much for the fireworks.
Wednesday the 9th, we had our appointment with Dr. Burke. He told us tha Murphy's placenta was detaching and where it had detached there were blood clots. He said they couldn't tell if the clots had caused the detach or if they had formed afterwards. We're doing blood work Friday to see if I have a clotting disorder. If I do then we will find out what that means for any future plans.
Friday the 11th, we had our appointment with Lee Ann the counselor. It was really good going to talk to someone who made us open up and reassured us about our feelings.
July 19th Nichole and I went to Atlanta for Amy's baby shower! It was so nice to go see Amy and Brian's house, we hadn't been back since they'd gotten married...long overdue! Amy had a lovely shower and I'm excited to meet baby girl Coleman and find out her name. However, if I'm being honest, feeling little 'Lucy' as they call her kick was hard for me. A little jealous thinking I should be that big and Murphy should be kicking in my belly.
Murphy's headstone arrived and I relized I was having a hard time going out to visit like Brett does. After our trip to Atlanta I stopped by to see the marker. I talked to Murphy and told him I may not visit him much and it's not because I've forgotten him, or I'm too busy, or that I don't love him...it's because I know that's just where his body lays, I talk to him everyday because I know he's with us always.
The last weekend in July Brett talked me into going on our first date since Murphy's passing. It's hard sometimes to remember it's okay to have fun and that Wendy needs a break from us too.
That Friday I went to Brooks and Amy's at 1pm so they could head to KC. Brett came out to help around 4pm. Those hours were a whirlwind with a five year old, two year old potty training, and two one year olds (one potty trainingish and one in diapers). It was also a little hard because T and L don't really talk, I never thought I'd be so glad Wendy can tell me what she needs. When B arrived I sent them all outside to play while I finished the dinner A started. It was so nice to have an extra set of hands during bath, dinner, and clean up. We had everyone tucked in by 8:40pm (Wendy was the only one who woke me up in the night and she had sweet kisses so it was okay).
That Saturday life started at 7am with breakfast, brushing teeth, changing diapers and clothes, and trying not to forget anything for Nancy and Kevin's slumber party. Then we were off to Omaha. We had a fantastic massage at Old Market Massage (B's first!), then had lunch at Shuck's (lobster roll, crabcake sandwich, and oysters on the half shell), a nap at the hotel, a drink at the hotel bar (where I made my appearance in my new dress, wedges, necklace, full makeup, and straightened hair), a drink and appetizer at The Boiler Room, a drink and some rolls of sushi at Blue Sushi, and a few drinks with Stu and Lexi at The Dubliner.
