What a day! Wednesday, September 9th we went in for our 39/40 week doctor's appointment. I was trying not to get my hopes up that Doc would be able to break my water, but lucky me, he said he would do it over the lunch hour! We ran home and got the hospital bag, made phone calls, and had my water broke by 1 o'clock! This labor was 100% different that what I went through having W. After my water was broke, I had actual contractions that Brett kept track of the length between and duration of each one, with W it was one long never ending contraction with no relief. Before we knew it I was dilated to a 5. I took a walk, used a labor ball, and then by the time they had me get back in bed to hook me up to the monitor I was at a 7. The nurse was running around setting everything up, I was at a 8 and they called the doctor in. He came flying in the Parkin or with flashers going and ran through the hospital. I was ready to push, three sets of three pushes and Jo was here! 4:02pm weighing 8lbs 1oz and 21 1/4in long and a carbon copy of her sister! Lots of dark hair! Wendy was so excited to meet her little sister and show her off to all of our family!
We got to go home Thursday evening. The first night was actually great, Jo gave us a five hour stretch of sleep! The next morning W went to preschool and dash went to work. Jo and I went to watch W in the homecoming parade. Then I brought both girls home and we all took a nap. Thankfully daddy didn't have a game Friday night so we all hung out. Friday night was more like I remember, up every hour. W has slept through all crying like it doesn't even faze her.
Saturday we were all lazy at home. Jo slept, of course. Wendy practice cutting with scissors, played with Playdoh, and we went to Stu and Lala's to watch the Tigers.
Sunday was a full day of breakfast, Sunday school, church, lunch, Chiefs at Nana and Papa's, Choir, Praise and Pancakes, and RAs.
