Monday was my first day at teacher meetings. It was an interesting experience and one I'm glad I got to have!
Tuesday was another day of meetings and I even got some painting in at Brett's!
Wednesday was my first day in the classroom. We have seven little first graders. It was a pretty calm day since it was a half day. We will have half days all week! We're having dinner for dad's birthday and then I hade rehearsal for the contest.
Thursday was another routine day, getting the kids used to being back at school. And another day of rehearsal.
Friday, however, was a whirlwind. We had school until 12:15, but Mrs. Clark was sick and left early so I was all on my own with the kids! Once school was out I had mom pick up flowers; I had sashes, numbers, crowns, and all of the prizes. I was at the Presbyterian Church at 12:45 to greet the judges and get them prepared. The tea started at 1:00 and lasted until the judges had dinner. After the dinner they went to the Little Mr. and Miss Fairfax and the baby show. While they are doing that I was making sure that all of my golf carts, drivers, and girls were ready for the talent portion of the evening.
After the talent the girls did their formal gown portion and before we knew it the 2010 queens gave their speeches and we crowned the new 2011 queens :) The rain waited until then to pour down!
By Saturday the parade will be a breeze. It did rain a little during the parade but let up afterwards so that I could still enjoy running around and doing my routine eating/game playing!
Sunday was church in the park and the meal afterwards. We also went to Brett's and got some things done at the apartment! Then we went to Lexi's and watched a movie, she had made me a cute little teaching basket...how sweet!
