Wednesday I almost didn't have my doctors appointment. Then Dr Burke almost didn't check me, but when he did he decided at 3cm with a sagging bag of water...I was ready to have that bag broken and have our baby girl! I was so glad my mom came to the appointment since Brett was in trial. I called Brett and he was too excited. I went to school to lay out my stuff for the sub and we went home to spend our last as the 'two' of us. We had pizza, checked the hospital bag, and tried to sleep.
We were at the hospital and had my water broken by 7:15! Brett went back to work since I was only at a 4cm and my mom helped me until about 10:00 when we were at a 6cm and it got intense! From about 11:00-1:00 was the worst of it. At 1:00 Dr. Burke arrived and it was time to push! By 1:55 she was here!! 7lb 8oz 21in and a full head of hair! We fell in love instantly!
I was so glad Lexi got to be there! She took pictures and showed them off in the waiting room to try and calm the anxious grandparents. Finally we started letting everyone come back.
Last night we kicked everyone out about 9:15, got to watch Wendy's first bath, and let them have her in the nursery so daddy and I could try and get some sleep.
After many different awakenings, we decided to stay up at 7:00 and start our day. Daddy left to check on the office and by the time he came back you would have thought he had been gone a week, they were so happy to cuddle up together and watch a Cardinals game together.
It's 7:00 now and all three of us are drifting fast. Tomorrow we head home to start this adventure on our own!
Family and friends have been a steady stream for two days :) we are loved and spoiled, very lucky and blessed!
More posts soon with details on getting this new thing called parenthood all figured out...
