Wendy: I'm five weeks old!

Thursday we had a family outing to Omaha. We went to Children's to see a doctor about my hernia. Mommy was very nervous as we approached 84th and Dodge. The doctor said that my hernia was so large (he actually called it giant!) that it wouldn't close on its own and we would have to have surgery to fix it. We scheduled the surgery for December 27th. By waiting a month it makes the surgery less risky and mom will be on Christmas break so she can be there and cuddle me back to health.
Thursday night I ate at 9pm and then not again until 4am...I'm getting the hang of this sleeping thing!
However, mom is trying to not hold me so much. She thinks I need to learn to entertain myself which I disagree with...I guess I better try though because next week is my last week at home with mom!
She has a hard time doing simple things like dishes, laundry, and grading with me wanting to be attached to her and I can tell she's nervous about going back to school. I have a feeling mom and dad are going to try and start having me on a 'schedule'...I've enjoyed calling the shots since mom and dad felt like I needed to since I wasn't feeling well and they were really nervous about all my health issues. Even though I've gotten to call the shots I think I've been pretty nice! I go at least 4 hours in between feedings, I eat around 4-5 ounces each time so I'm good and full, and I'm generally pretty happy if I have a warm body beside me and a pacifier in my mouth.
